There has been a growing interest whether or not there is such a thing as an addictive personality. Although this question is hard to give a precise answer, there are many ways to examine it. Doctors and researchers alike are working hard to provide an explanation on why people use, abuse, and become addicted to drugs and alcohol. Around the Globe: Unsuspecting Countries Struggling with Drugs and Addiction

    When people think of drug abuse or drug addictions, many people may think of Columbia for its cocaine, the US for crack, and Russia for its love of alcohol. There are currently 196 countries in the world and it is safe to say that most have some kind of drug problem. Some obviously not as bad as others, but the occurrence of abuse and addiction is that of a global nature. Below, in no particular order, are countries that have some of the worst addiction problems. Czech Republic: Alcohol The Czech Republic came is second in the world for alcohol consumption by a study conducted by the Worldwide Health Organization in 2005. The average person over 15 drinks about 16.5 liters of pure alcohol per year, while the average male consumed nearly 25.6 liters of pure alcohol. Even more disturbing is the average liters of beer annually consumed, peaks at about 163.5 per person.
